At a meeting on the development of the aviation industry, which took place last June 22 at the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov (a branch of PJSC "Tupolev), the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin stated that it is necessary to actively increase the production of the Tu-214 medium-range narrow-body passenger aircraft.
«It is important to actively increase the construction of such aircraft. Today we will discuss further steps to support the project, including issues of expanding the direction and the additional funding required for this», - said Mikhail Mishustin.
He recalled that the Kazan Aviation Plant should reach the production of ten Tu-214s annually in 2025. At the same time, Mishustin noted that a state program is being implemented in Russia, for which 40.5 billion rubles are provided in 2023. These funds will be used to modernize production and engineering centers, create advanced engines and other important projects.
