United Engine Corporation, part of Rostec, has opened a state-of-the-art Design and Research Center in Samara.
"Over 1.5 billion rubles have been invested in the construction of the complex with an area of more than 10 thousand square meters. Equipped with advanced technology and modern IT infrastructure, the Design Bureau will develop advanced power plants for aviation, space and energy," Rostec said. The state corporation added that the center has opened 500 jobs for design engineers and technical staff.
"Its [center's] equipment will allow the development of new gas turbine engines entirely in a virtual environment using \"digital twins\" and significantly reduce the time to create them - up to 4-5 years. \"UEC-Kuznetsov\" has a powerful engineering school, highly qualified specialists who, thanks to this center, will be able to realize their full potential and provide the country with aviation, space and energy power plants," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
