The United Engine Corporation, part of Rostec, has opened a state-of-the-art Design Development and Research Center in Samara.
"More than 1.5 billion rubles were invested in the construction of the complex with an area of over 10,000 sq. m. The design bureau, equipped with cutting-edge technology and a modern IT infrastructure, will develop promising power units for aviation, space, and energy," said Rostec. The state corporation also added that the center has opened 500 jobs for design engineers and technical staff.
"Its [the center's] equipment will enable the development of new gas turbine engines entirely in a virtual environment using "digital twins" and significantly reduce the creation time to 4-5 years. "ODK-Kuznetsov" has a strong engineering school, top-class specialists who, thanks to this center, will be able to realize their full potential and provide the country with aviation, space, and energy power units," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
