AvtoVAZ announced the start of mass production of the Lada X-Cross 5 crossover at the Lada St. Petersburg site (formerly a Russian Nissan factory). The solemn event was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov.
The exact specifications and configurations of the Lada X-Cross 5 have not yet been announced, but it is reported that the car has a 160-horsepower turbo engine and a 7-speed robotic gearbox. The equipment also includes a number of driver assistance systems (emergency braking system, automatic high beam switching, lane departure warning, etc.), a panoramic roof, leather interior.
The novelty will go on sale in the third quarter. Following the Lada X-Cross 5 (by the end of the current year), a D-class sedan will be launched on the assembly line of the St. Petersburg enterprise. The total volume of production of the crossover and sedan for the current year is about 10 thousand units.
