Rossiya Airlines has officially announced that it has begun using Russian-made tires from YaShZ avia on its Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.
«Rossiya Airlines, the largest operator of Superjet 100, has started using domestic tires on this type of aircraft. The supplier of the sets is YaShZ avia, the largest Russian developer and manufacturer of tires for aircraft, helicopters, and ground equipment. Previously, Rossiya Airlines used foreign aviation tires [Michelin], the production and import of which was discontinued in our country,» said a representative of the airline.
It is noted that the first batch of 73 tires has arrived in the warehouse, two SSJ-100s have been equipped with domestic tires, and they are already flying.
«Flight safety is the main priority of Rossiya, therefore, the use of high-quality components is a particularly responsible task. Aircraft tires are designed to provide maximum reliability during takeoff, landing, and taxiing. The aircraft must behave stably and not cause any comments from the crew,» said Georgy Barinov, Flight Director of Rossiya.
