The Scientific Research Institute of Steel (part of the «Kalashnikov» concern) has launched mass production of anti-fragmentation blankets to protect facilities where people gather in large numbers.
«The light weight of the blanket and its sufficient area allow it to be used to protect people in homes, cars, and individually, when a person enters a combat zone. The blanket stops up to 90% of the fragments formed during the detonation of mines, shells, and improvised explosive devices», — Kalashnikov said. They added that the first batch will be shipped in mid-May.
