Russian strategic aviation is located at airfields in various regions of the country in the open air, despite the fact that the country has suspended its participation in the Treaty on the Reduction of Strategic Offensive Arms (START-3) with the United States. This was noted by a military expert, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik.
The first theory put forward was that these were the requirements of the START-3 treaty. However, this version turned out to be not as clear-cut as it might seem at first glance, Krapivnik said.
On February 21, 2023, we suspended START-3, as the Americans began to develop new nuclear weapons. So why didn't we withdraw from this treaty, but suspended it? Why did the bombers remain in the open air? It would be right to build protected bunkers for aircraft.
Krapivnik also admitted that he does not see much sense in putting tires on air vehicles. He believes that car tires will not save you from a kamikaze drone.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Dan-M decoy drones with a jet engine have been developed in Russia: they will leave air defense in the dark.
