Footage of a new promising kamikaze drone with a tandem wing has appeared online. A similar design is used on the American Switchblade-600 drone, said military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The novelty can also be compared with the Russian loitering munition "Lancet" from Zala Aero, but instead of an X-shaped tandem, the drone received a classic pair of wings and a small tail stabilizer.
Half the weight of the control servo kit and the presence of four wing airfoils instead of eight not only reduced the weight of the vehicle, but also reduced aerodynamic drag. This can provide an increase in range by 35-50%, up to 55-60 km.
In the upper part of the fuselage of the newest drone there is a fairing, in which communication and satellite navigation antennas can be located. They are usually placed on top to reduce the influence of electronic warfare equipment.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Lancet kamikaze drones successfully hit the target in 77% of cases: full statistics of the use of ammunition.
