Self-propelled mortars 2S41 "Drok" began to enter service with the Russian army. The complex was developed on the basis of the K-4386 "Typhoon-VDV" armored car, equipped with a combat module with a breech-loading modification of the 82-mm mortar 2B14 "Podnos".
The mortar is designed to suppress manpower and light armored vehicles. The highly mobile "Typhoon-VDV" platform provides the "Drok" with the ability to operate in a "roaming" mode, which is critical during intense counter-battery "duels".
High rate of fire has become one of the main advantages of "Drok" - 10 rounds/min, ammunition - 40 mines. The muzzle energy of the gun provides a firing range of 6 km.
The complex allows firing without leaving the cabin. The transition of the mortar from the stowed position to the combat position takes less than a minute, which helps to quickly escape from enemy fire and increases the protection of the crew.
Main characteristics of 2S41 "Drok":
- Maximum firing range - 6000 m
- Crew - 4 people
- Full weight of the armored car - 14500 kg
- Chassis payload - 2500 kg
- Maximum speed - less than 100 km/h
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense showed footage of an attack on heavy equipment using FPV drones of the Rubikon Advanced Unmanned Technology Test Center.
