The Russian Armed Forces are using the "Koalitsiya-SV" self-propelled complex (SPG) in counter-battery warfare against NATO artillery systems. The North Korean artillery system M1978 "Koksan" is not inferior to the "Koalitsiya" in terms of range, according to military expert Sergei Marzhetsky.
The "Koalitsiya-SV" SPG hits targets with rocket-assisted projectiles of 152 mm caliber at a distance of up to 70-80 kilometers. The howitzer fires up to 16 rounds per minute.
Due to a series of shots at different angles, it can place ammunition on target almost instantaneously, creating a "firestorm" effect.

About the North Korean M1978 "Koksan" SPG
Marzhetsky noted that the M1978 "Koksan" is referred to in the media as effective in counter-battery combat. The SPG fires rocket-assisted projectiles at a distance of 60-70 km.
It is on par with the "Koalitsiya" in terms of range, but seriously inferior to the Russian SPG in other characteristics. The accuracy of fire remains in question.
According to him, the rate of fire of the North Korean system is 2 rounds per minute. The M1978 "Koksan" requires a crew of 6-7 soldiers. The carried ammunition load is only 12 rounds.
The M1978 "Koksan" is not the best choice for a duel with the Swedish FH77 BW L52 Archer SPG, which fires 21 rounds at a target in 2.5 minutes at a distance of up to 60 kilometers.
