«Сухие» оставили МиГ позади: в Eurasian Times объяснили, почему МиГ-35 приходится бороться за покупателей

The aircraft was designed to operate in zones of armed conflict

The MiG-35 is the latest multi-functional aviation complex of the \"4++\" generation, created by JSC \"RSK \"MiG\" for operation in zones of armed conflicts of high intensity in conditions of saturated enemy air defense. It is a modernized version of the MiG-29 aircraft, which failed to repeat the commercial success of its predecessor, writes Eurasian Times.

The aircraft was presented in 2017 at the RSK \"MiG\" production complex in Lukhovitsy near Moscow. A year later, the Ministry of Defense ordered the first delivery of MiG-35s. Russia believes that the aircraft has high export potential.

The MiG-35 has been modernized. The number of combat modules has been increased to 9 (similar to the MiG-29M2). It was planned that the MiG-35 would launch the Kh-36 \"Grom-1\" cruise missile, which would give it a greater range than the MiG-29.

As Eurasian Times writes, the export of Russian aircraft has now slowed down. Foreign customers are losing interest in MiG. Many prefer the newer fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft, as well as the promising Su-75. It is obvious that the \"Sukhoi\" have left MiG behind.

In 2014, Egypt considered purchasing the MiG-35, but eventually ordered the MiG-29 from Russia. Bangladesh planned to purchase the MiG-35, but the deal fell through due to lack of funding.

Features of the MiG-35

The MiG-35 aircraft is equipped with deeply modernized RD-33MK engines, with an increased service life of 4000 hours. The developers also took care of a new generation radar with AESA, allowing simultaneous tracking of up to 30 air targets at a distance of up to 160 km.
