Russia demonstrated its ambitious efforts in the field of defense industrial production at the international forum "Army-2024", which was held from August 12 to 14, presenting a sample of a self-propelled 122-mm gun MTS-15 "Klever" on a tracked chassis. However, this project may suffer the fate of the "Armata" tank and the "Kurganets" infantry fighting vehicle. This is written by Defence blog.
The MTS-15 "Klever", mounted on a tracked platform, is the latest in a series of military innovations presented at various international exhibitions and national parades, many of which have not yet been used in combat.
Among the advantages of the development, Defence blog author Dylan Malyasov noted the remote control of the combat vehicle from a distance of up to 500 m. MTS-15 "Klever" — comes out of cover, fires shots and retreats to a safe place, hiding from return fire.
However, as with many previous high-profile Russian military projects, such as the "Armata" tank and the "Kurganets" infantry fighting vehicle, questions remain as to whether this unmanned howitzer will emerge from the prototype stage and enter service.
