The Vologda mechanized infrastructure distance received a PSS-2P snow removal train manufactured by Kalugaputmash. According to Sinara Group, the machine is designed to clear railway tracks, turnouts, and station throats within the Sharya track distance. The working section extends from Manturovo to Svecha.

The main design difference of the PSS-2P from the SM snow removal machine is its ability to move independently. The tail car is equipped with two diesel-generator units, so a separate locomotive is not required for operation and movement of the train. The train is also equipped with an ice breaker for removing ice from the railway track.

The train includes four storage cars and can hold up to 480 m³ of snow. For comparison, the capacity of the SM machine is up to 320 m³, and the PSS-1K train is up to 460 m³. According to railway workers, the PSS-2P also consumes less fuel compared to its predecessors. Independent comparative tests of fuel consumption are not provided in the published source.

A living module is provided for the crew, where the driver and assistant can rest between shifts, prepare food, and process documents. Improved cabin visibility facilitates control over the cleaning process.
