The Moscow government has allocated 450 million rubles for the development of taxi and carsharing services in 2026. The funds are intended for updating the car fleet. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport.

Thanks to this support, taxis in the Russian capital remain among the most modern, the department added. Currently, there are over 88 thousand yellow taxis in the city, and the average waiting time is 4 minutes.

About 42 thousand cars operate in carsharing. Drivers have access to electric vehicles, crossovers, and premium cars for rent.

Following the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, since 2012, we have been providing taxi companies with subsidies to compensate for part of the costs when purchasing cars. In total, over 15 years, they have received more than 2.9 billion rubles and purchased more than 94 thousand cars during this time.
Maxim Liksutov, Head of the Moscow Department of Transport

Carsharing services began receiving subsidies in 2018. Over 8 years, they were allocated 1.6 billion rubles, and these funds were also used to purchase 66.5 thousand new cars, Liksutov summarized.

The capital is also actively improving courier services. From October 15, delivery service employees are required to pass an exam on knowledge of traffic rules (PPD). Those who fail the test will not be allowed to work.
