The Shvabe holding, part of the Rostec state corporation, presented a new model of the KNb-05-Zenit floor-standing binocular colposcope at the international forum "Bioprom-2026". The colposcope is used for examinations in gynecology and oncology. It allows for image magnification from five to 34 times.
A colposcope is needed by a doctor to examine tissues with magnification during an examination. According to Shvabe, in the new model, a special blue-green light filter makes the vascular pattern more noticeable. This helps the doctor better distinguish healthy tissues from areas that require additional examination.
The working distance of the device is 300 mm. The holding also claims an improved video module, which should provide a clear image on the screen.
The KNb-05-Zenit is designed not only for observation through eyepieces. During the examination, a specialist can simultaneously view the image through the optical system and on the screen. Photos and videos can be saved to a flash drive without connecting to a computer and recording can be controlled using a pedal.
According to Shvabe, the colposcope is compatible with medical software that can be used for further analysis of the obtained data.
The device was developed by the S. A. Zverev Krasnogorsk Plant, part of the Shvabe holding. The new model is currently undergoing the registration certificate procedure. Serial production is planned to begin in 2027, and the estimated production capacity should be about 250 devices per year.
The new model continues the Zenit line of colposcopes. Previously, Shvabe produced the KNb-04LED-Zenit, and in 2025, the holding presented its updated version with new software, functions for comparing images, automation of documentation, and digital data storage.
