More than 30 Russian and foreign universities have gained free access to the domestic GEOMIX system for deposit modeling and mining planning. The complex is intended to replace the Australian Micromine software, which became unavailable to most specialized universities after leaving the Russian market.

GEOMIX allows creating a digital model of a deposit and supporting development from geological exploration to reclamation. The system includes six modules — from geology and surveying to planning and drilling and blasting operations.
This is not just about the educational version. Academic licenses are equivalent to commercial ones, and the system itself is already used at enterprises of Polyus, Atlas Mining, and several mining and processing plants. In Russia, about 1000 workplaces are equipped with GEOMIX.
The developer is already preparing GEOMIX 2.0 — with a web interface and client-server architecture. The first updated module is designed for drilling and blasting operations and allows creating drilling passports and mass blasting projects.
