Yandex has updated its caller ID for iPhone: now the service checks incoming calls via an online database in real time and can automatically block unwanted calls. This was reported by the company's press service.

Previously, data was stored on the device and updated approximately every four hours. Now, on iPhones with iOS 18 and newer, the caller ID sends an encrypted request to the cloud database, receives information about the caller, and blocks the call if necessary. Data preparation takes up to 10 minutes — this is important because scammers change numbers on average every 78 minutes.
The user can select categories for blocking: fraudulent and silent calls, offers of financial or other services. Each subsequent level includes the previous ones — if financial service advertising is blocked, the system will automatically block scammers as well.
The function is available in Yandex Browser and the Yandex — with Alice AI application.
