Explored mineral reserves in the Arctic are estimated at more than $20 trillion. At the same time, the geological exploration of the region does not exceed 20%. This was announced by the head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, Alexey Chekunkov, at a meeting of the Council under the Maritime Board.

According to Vostokgosplan's calculations, confirmed reserves are worth more than $20 trillion. If these data are extrapolated, the capitalization of the Russian Arctic is at least $100 trillion. By 2035, the capacity of key energy facilities in the Arctic is planned to be brought to 5.6 GW, another 1.4 GW will be introduced in the Unified and isolated energy systems. Investors intend to add 3.5 GW of generation.

A portfolio of 300 largest investment projects worth 36 trillion rubles has been formed. The growth of cargo exports is associated with the construction of ports and connecting infrastructure: the universal ports of Arkhangelsk and Nayba, the development of the Murmansk transport hub, the Northern Latitudinal Railway. This will ensure the export of about 150 million tons of cargo per year.
