FSUE Atomflot put up for auction the hull of the Soviet nuclear icebreaker Arktika of Project 10520 with a superstructure, ship equipment and devices. The property is intended for disposal with the receipt of secondary materials. This follows from the materials of the GIS Torgi.

The initial price of the lot is 111.6 million rubles, the auction step is 5% (5.6 million rubles). Applications for participation can be submitted until October 12. The deposit is 10% - 11.2 million rubles. The bidding will take place on October 15, after which the contract with the winner must be concluded within 20 days.

The hull of the Arktika is located at an anchorage in Kut Bay of Kola Bay, on the territory of the Nerpa Ship Repair Plant in Snezhnogorsk. In the auction documentation, the property is designated as secondary materials of hull structures and equipment formed during the disposal of the icebreaker.

The Arktika was built at the Baltic Shipyard in Leningrad: the state flag was raised on the icebreaker on April 25, 1975. On August 17, 1977, it was the first in the world to reach the geographical point of the North Pole in active surface navigation. The operation of the icebreaker was stopped in 2008 after the expiration of the documents of the Maritime Register and the shutdown of the nuclear power plant. In 2011, the crew was removed, and the vessel was put into cold lay-up.

Project 10520 vessels were gradually replaced by universal nuclear icebreakers of Project 22220, which are also being built by the Baltic Shipyard. The lead vessel is named Arktika.
