Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko told RIA Novosti that a "red button" to protect against fraudsters will be launched on Gosuslugi by the end of the year. Banks and telecom operators are already connecting. After pressing the button, significant online operations will be frozen — fraudsters will not be able to transfer money or change passwords.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the first half of 2026, the number of cybercrimes decreased by 30% — to 252.9 thousand against 371.4 thousand a year earlier. The Ministry of Digital Development attributes this to the "Antifraud" package adopted in 2025. The third package, "Antifraud 3.0," is currently under public discussion and is expected to come into force in March 2028.

The package includes almost 20 initiatives: restricting the sale of SIM cards through aggregators, banning prepaid SIM cards, a unified consent platform on Gosuslugi, prohibiting the use of personal data in SMS mailings, and disconnecting numbers at the request of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. For the user, the "red button" will be an emergency brake if fraudsters have already gained access to the account.
