The Irkutsk Aviation Plant plans to reach a production rate of one MS-21 medium-haul aircraft every 40 calendar days in 2027. This was announced by Andrey Soynov, General Director of the PAO "Yakovlev" branch – Irkutsk Aviation Plant.

The transition to the new pace will have to be carried out taking into account the already formed production backlog. The plant has accumulated a volume of work in progress that needs to be consistently moved through the assembly line.

In addition, previously assembled aircraft will have to be returned to the production process and integrated into the current cycle, taking into account their degree of readiness.

Earlier it was reported that IAZ expected to reach a pace of one MS-21 every two months in 2027, which corresponded to a plan to produce 15 aircraft per year. Now the enterprise names a shorter interval – 40 days, and intends to continue reducing it further.

At the same time, this refers specifically to the planned production rate, and not to the current speed achieved. As of September, the current assembly cycle of one MS-21 at the enterprise was estimated at approximately 11–12 months.

Certification procedures for the aircraft, according to earlier estimates by Rosaviatsia head Dmitry Yadrov, should be completed by mid-2027.
