Russian mechanical engineering continues to restore production for the domestic market. Domestic enterprises have already resumed car production in all demanded classes. The details were revealed by the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
According to the minister, today domestic enterprises also produce the main types of industrial robots. In the machine tool industry, as Alikhanov noted, more than 400 enterprises are operating, and eight specialized centers have been created for the development of robotics.
Separately, the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade pointed out the development of serial production of civil aircraft. Russia is currently creating technologies that, according to him, will determine the further growth of the industry.
How Russian Mechanical Engineering is Developing
It was previously reported that machine tool building in Russia has quadrupled the number of enterprises in five years — from 40 in 2021 to approximately 160. Domestic products currently occupy 33% of the domestic market, and the transition to five-axis machining and heavy machine tools remains an industry priority.
In the automotive industry, the share of domestic cars in the market reached 67%, and sales of Russian-assembled cars increased by a third year-on-year. More than 80% of the sites left by foreign investors have been relaunched. By the end of last year, about 30,000 jobs and a base for 1.6 million cars per year were saved.
Competencies in aircraft engine building are being restored. This includes the model range of airliners and helicopters, as well as work on technological independence in this area.
