The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, tested the hybrid Lada Azimut and noted its brisk acceleration. The power unit produces about 500 hp, acceleration to 100 km/h is 6.5 seconds, and the range exceeds 1000 km. This is a plug-in hybrid with an internal combustion engine and two electric motors, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported.

The total power of the unit is about 500 hp. The internal combustion engine drives the front wheels, and the electric motors drive the front and rear wheels. The minister also noted the spacious interior, suitable for a large family. Externally, the hybrid does not differ from the gasoline version: only the "PHEV 4WD" badge on the trunk lid gives it away. A new energy distribution animation from Itelma has appeared on the digital instrument panel.

The hybrid will undergo a full cycle of road, climatic, and industrial tests. After that, AvtoVAZ will assess the balance of cost and market price. Serial production of the gasoline Azimut already started on September 25: 1.6 and 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engines with 120 and 132 hp with manual or CVT. Sales are in the fourth quarter, prices will be announced later.
