patented a new design for a low-pressure compressor for a turbofan engine. Designers Marat Valeev and Artur Teregulov proposed to place the guide vane inside the flow path of the intermediate casing.

Currently, its placement requires additional space between the impeller and the power struts. But the new scheme should reduce this distance and allow for a decrease in the length and mass of the low-pressure rotor, as well as the overall dimensions of the compressor.

The guide vane received two coaxial casings — an outer and an inner. Between them, radial airfoil blades will be installed, connected by two rows of additional blades. They form a system of complex-shaped channels.

The new design should turn it before it enters the intermediate casing, after which the flow in the intermediate casing is divided into two — outer and inner circuits.
