Assembly of the executive sedan Senat 1000 will begin in 2028 at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg, which is now owned by the FGUPS "NAMI" (subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade) through OOO "Shushary-Auto". This was announced by St. Petersburg Vice-Governor Kirill Polyakov in his Telegram channel.
In addition to the Senat 1000 and the already produced Senat 900, the enterprise will also produce another crossover.
The 323rd Senat car has already rolled off the plant's assembly line. Production was launched on June 4 during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Thus, the enterprise produces an average of about 86 cars per month.
Investments and Plans
St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov stated that about 3 billion rubles have been invested in the enterprise.
In the future, the volume of investments will exceed 60 billion rubles, — added the mayor. — The enterprise will master the production of three car models on an all-wheel drive platform.
Beglov noted that the city's automotive industry "has fully restored the operation of all four production sites". A few days ago, the head of the St. Petersburg Committee for Industrial Policy, Alexander Sitov, reported that the restoration of the automotive industry to pre-crisis levels of 2021 (when almost 370 thousand cars were produced in the city per year) is planned by 2028.
Currently, St. Petersburg enterprises produce several car models — Senat 900, Tenet A8, Esteo MX, Jeland J7, Jeland J6, and others.
