Children aged 11 to 17 are most vulnerable to scammers' tricks, Svetlana Kolobova, Candidate of Psychological Sciences and clinical psychologist, told RIA Novosti. Teenagers want to decide everything themselves, but their ability to assess risks and consequences is still developing.

Fraudsters influence through emotions: fear, excitement, curiosity, a sense of urgency, or infatuation. Attackers may ask to urgently send personal data, card numbers, or money. Children under 11 are deceived by offers of gifts, games, or prizes: they do not always understand who they are communicating with online and comply with strangers' requests. Earlier, the Central Bank warned about a scam scheme targeting children.

The psychologist notes: young children have not realized the danger. Parents should explain that one should not disclose data or transfer money at the request of strangers. Scammers exploit the immaturity of the teenage psyche, so prevention is more important than prohibitions.
