The Russian government has approved an order that increases the length of the toll section of the M-4 "Don" road after reconstruction is completed. The document also expands the toll section on the M-12 "Vostok" road, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport reported.

On the M-4 highway in the Rostov region, a section from 933 km to 1024 km is being reconstructed. In addition, specialists are working on 20 interchanges, bridges, and overpasses.

The project provides for the installation of outdoor lighting, barriers and mesh fencing, and noise barriers. The highway will be controlled by automated traffic management systems.

The agency clarified that since 2022, a toll has been introduced on the M-4 for the section from 715 km to 933 km. Now the length of the toll section will increase to 1024 km.

Alternative routes will be available free of charge, the ministry added.

The new toll section on the M-12 "Vostok" highway will be 7.045 km long. This refers to the section from the intersection with the M-12 bypass of Kazan to the M-7 "Volga". The funds received will be used for maintenance and safety on the road.
