AvtoVAZ has revealed its strategy for the new Lada Azimut. The crossover will be launched at the lower end of its price segment, said company head Maxim Sokolov.

The company's head has not yet named the exact cost of the car. The Azimut consists of 90% components produced in Russia, which allows AvtoVAZ to position the model as highly localized.
The official start of crossover production is scheduled for September 25. The Azimut will receive a 1.8-liter engine with 132 hp and an automatic transmission, as well as a 1.6-liter engine with 120 hp paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
