For the new Lada Azimut crossover to pay off and generate profit, it will be enough to sell 30–40 thousand cars annually. However, the plant is aiming for a much more ambitious volume — 70 thousand units per year. These figures were shared by former AvtoVAZ engineer and insider known by the nickname KhaDm.
As for the price of the "Azimut," based on all currently available information, my forecast is 2.2–2.7 million rubles. This price will allow it to start at the same price levels as competitors, whose basic versions also come with a manual transmission.
Lada Azimut is the first crossover fully developed by AvtoVAZ after Renault's departure. The base version will receive an upgraded 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 120 hp (154 Nm). Buyers will also be offered a 1.8-liter engine with 132 hp (175 Nm) paired with a CVT. After 2028, the lineup may expand with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 150 hp, which will work together with a six-speed automatic. The appearance of an all-wheel-drive version is also possible. The crossover is based on a modernized Vesta platform.
