The former head of the logistics department of an aircraft repair plant in Sverdlovsk Oblast, according to the criminal case materials, organized the supply of falsified components for aircraft engines. As a result, funds totaling more than 8.6 million rubles were stolen from the enterprise's account.

According to the criminal case materials, the man used his official position to organize contracts with third-party companies. The enterprise was supposed to receive new parts for engine repair, but instead of the components stipulated by the contracts, it was supplied with falsified products that did not meet the established requirements. Among the parts named were turbine blades and rings for D-36 and D-136 engines.

Money for the purchase of spare parts was transferred from the enterprise's account. As a result of the illegal actions, more than 8.6 million rubles were stolen.

The Sysertsky District Court sentenced the former head of the department to five years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime correctional colony. The court also ruled to recover the material damage caused to the enterprise from the convicted person and his accomplices, who were previously brought to criminal responsibility.

D-36 and D-136 engines belong to aviation equipment, for which repair and condition monitoring of components are of significant importance. The D-36 was used on An-72 and An-74 aircraft, and the D-136 is designed for heavy Mi-26 helicopters.  

In Sverdlovsk Oblast, the Aramilsky Aircraft Repair Plant is engaged in the repair of such engines, however, the available UFSB message does not name the enterprise where the theft occurred.
