PAO Yakovlev completed the first half of 2026 with an IFRS net loss of 5.39 billion rubles, compared to a profit of 2.54 billion rubles a year earlier. The data is presented in the company's report, published on September 22.

At the same time, EBITDA margin decreased from 24% to 10.2%. Return on equity also became negative — minus 4.4% against 2.5% in January–June 2025. However, the company does not disclose revenue figures in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation.
The financial results coincide with the period of scaling up Yakovlev's civil aviation programs. The company is involved in the production of the medium-haul MC-21 and regional SJ-100, which are intended to form the basis for updating the Russian passenger aircraft fleet.
On September 18, a contract was announced for the supply of another 90 MC-21s to Aeroflot in 2029–2032 — together with the previously ordered 18 aircraft, the carrier's portfolio reached 108 aircraft.
The large order shapes future production load, but the report itself does not allow us to conclude that the costs for the MC-21 were the direct cause of the loss.
