Workers of the Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port have completed the installation of the boom device of the Russian-made portal luffing crane "Vityaz" at berth 78 of cargo universal terminal No. 2 (GUT-2). This was reported by the port's press service.
To install the main working body of the crane, 3 mobile cranes were used — a German Liebherr with a lifting capacity of 200 tons, a Chinese Zoomlion (150 tons), and a Japanese Tadano (50 tons). After this operation, commissioning work will begin on the "Vityaz".
This was the most technically challenging part of the installation. The weight of the boom device is 45 tons, its length is 33 meters, but despite this, the work was performed with jewelry precision.
In total, the commercial sea port has 55 cranes, two of which are Russian. By the end of 2026, another "Vityaz" will be put into operation at GUT-2, the press service concluded.
"Vityaz" cranes are manufactured at the plants of ZAO "SMM" in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. They are used in ports for cargo transshipment and at shipyards. The new cranes are expected to expand the port's cargo handling capabilities.
