64% of Russians have a positive attitude towards the mass adoption of the digital ruble. They cite the absence of commissions and transfer limits, which currently apply in the Faster Payments System, as well as the independence of savings from a specific bank, as the main advantages. This is stated in a "Viberu.ru" study covering 3,000 people.

24% of respondents took a neutral stance, while 12% responded negatively. Opponents of the idea explain this by not understanding why they should change their usual card or QR code payments if cashless transactions already work. At the same time, 18% have already paid for purchases with the digital ruble, 45% are ready to start using it in everyday payments, and one in four plans to try it later when the technology becomes more familiar.

The Head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, reported that within ten days of its launch, Russians opened 87,000 wallets and conducted 50,000 operations. She acknowledged that in the first days, some clients of several banks experienced difficulties with opening accounts and conducting operations, but these were promptly resolved. Since September 1, digital wallets can be opened through the applications of major banks.
