A small FPV drone can get close to a person before longer-range defenses activate. For this scenario, the "Osa" received ammunition to combat UAVs at close range – a developer representative announced at the IV All-Russian Arms Forum that for an FPV the size of a mini-Mavic, a guaranteed hit is achieved from 15 meters.

The solution is still based on a four-shot system, but its capabilities have been expanded beyond its usual use as a less-lethal weapon. To counter drones, 4 mm caliber buckshot is used. According to the developer's concept, the "Osa" should not replace detection means and longer-range engagement systems, but rather occupies the last line of defense when the drone has already approached the protected person or object.

The ammunition capacity is four shots, after which the system can be reloaded quite quickly. The ammunition set is not limited to anti-drone options: the "Osa" retains signal, illumination, light-and-sound, and traumatic cartridges. This allows one system to be used for various individual protection scenarios.

Separately, the developer is considering the use of the "Osa" at civilian and industrial facilities where it is impossible to provide every employee with a specialized UAV countermeasure system. An example given is the territory of an oil refinery: for a large facility, it is assumed that individual means will be combined with longer-range systems, rather than trying to solve the entire problem with one weapon.
