The Strategic Missile Forces may have at least 193 RS-24 "Yars" intercontinental ballistic missiles in service. Such estimates are provided in foreign specialized studies, reported the "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" publication.

"Yars" is solid-fueled and equipped with a multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle with maneuvering warheads. The declared range of the complex reaches 11 thousand km.

According to other estimates, the Strategic Missile Forces have 180 mobile and 40 silo-based RS-24 complexes. Foreign sources indicate the deployment of "Yars" in seven missile divisions.

"Avangard" occupies a special place. There are 12 such complexes on combat duty, deployed on UR-100N UTTH missiles. Their warhead is capable of maneuvering in the atmosphere at hypersonic speed, which makes its interception difficult.

It should be noted that precise data on the composition of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces are not officially disclosed, so the estimates provided may differ. The Ministry of Defence does not disclose the number of missiles in service.
