Speedtest.ru presented the first monthly rating of internet quality in Russian regions. It is based on over 5 million user measurements for August 2026, with mobile and fixed connections evaluated separately.

Top 3 for mobile internet:
- Altai Krai — 85.54 points
- Krasnodar Krai — 80.50 points
- Stavropol Krai — 77.76 points
The top ten also included Tyumen, Rostov, Ulyanovsk, Voronezh, and Saratov Oblasts, Chuvashia, and Krasnoyarsk Krai.
Top 3 for fixed internet:
- Saint Petersburg — 88.56 points
- Moscow Oblast — 85.27 points
- Murmansk Oblast — 82.70 points
Among other regions in the top ten were Crimea, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk Oblasts, Moscow, North Ossetia – Alania, Kuzbass, and Lipetsk Oblast. For the leaders, the median download speed exceeds 90 Mbps, and latency is around 5–7 ms.
The rating took into account download and upload speeds, latency, and connection stability. The study included only regions where users performed at least 1000 measurements per month.
However, the rating does not show the quality of coverage for the entire region. It reflects the connection exactly where users ran the test, so leadership does not mean equally fast internet in all settlements.
