The Russian Aerospace Forces have approximately 24 MiG-31K interceptor fighters in service. This assessment was provided by the publication "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" with reference to foreign sources.

Foreign researchers believe that there are also about 124 MiG-31 series fighters in the fleet. How many of them are airworthy is unknown; these figures are officially classified.
The West also estimated that the annual production volume of Kh-47M2 missiles is approximately 60 units, which is about five per month. The "Kinzhal" cannot be intercepted even by modern air defense systems.
We emphasize that there is no official information on the production volume of "Kinzhal" missiles, nor are there confirmed characteristics. It is known from open sources that the basis is the 9M723 aeroballistic missile of the "Iskander-M".
Designer Nikolay Chikunov explained to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" that the MiG-31 has not yet lost its potential for further modernization.
