Russia will supply India with the fifth-generation multi-role fighter Su-57, but the issue of its production in the partner country will still be discussed. This was stated by Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

According to Peskov, the Su-57 is one of the best aircraft in the world. And India is requesting production technologies from Russia, he noted.

Every country, when producing new complex machines, wants to keep these technologies to itself.

However, to strengthen the strategic partnership with New Delhi, the Russian side may share them, Peskov suggested.

Such agreements should not be public. Moreover, military cooperation between the two countries cannot be open, the Kremlin representative emphasized. "It must remain in silence" to be effective.

In addition to the Su-57 project, Russia and India could also deepen cooperation in missile engineering. For example, modernize the BrahMos supersonic missiles, improving their characteristics, Peskov added. This would increase their competitiveness in the market, he concluded.

Earlier, Rosoboronexport stated that Russia plans to sell Su-57 to several foreign customers in 2026. However, the exporting organization did not disclose which countries were involved.

The need for BrahMos modernization was also discussed in India. Foreign experts claimed that it surpasses Russian P-800 Oniks missiles in some respects, but still needs updating due to the development of air defense systems.
