The Ufa plant "ODK-UMPO" has developed a detonation thrust amplifier, which is proposed for installation in existing turbofan engines (TRDD). The scheme is capable of adding 15–30% of the total thrust of the power plant when temporarily activated.

The amplifier is made as an annular detonation chamber with a diffuser, a cylindrical section, and an outlet confuser. Fuel is supplied through an annular manifold, the nozzles of which, in the described variant, are directed towards the flow at an angle of 70°. The initiator launches a continuous spin detonation wave.
Inside the amplifier, the airflow accelerates to Mach 1.0–1.3, after which detonation sharply increases the temperature and pressure of the gases. The resulting thrust is added to the main engine thrust.

The amplifier can be placed in the outer contour of a two-spool TRDD and activated only when a short-term increase in thrust is needed, including instead of the classic afterburner mode.
