The "Vikhr-1M" transport drone, developed by specialists from "Intek Industrial Systems" company, delivered election ballots from the city of Tashtagol to the village of Klyuchevoy in the Kemerovo region. This was announced by the Center for Unmanned Systems and Technologies (ANO "TsBST").

The air delivery of ballots took place as part of an experiment conducted by the Central Election Commission to provide remote settlements with election documentation before the elections of State Duma deputies (September 18-20). The "Vikhr-1M" configuration allows it to be used for solving socially significant tasks, TsBST stated.
Which regions are participating in the experiment:
- Republic of Karelia
- Krasnoyarsk Krai
- Arkhangelsk Oblast
- Kemerovo Oblast
After the elections and vote counting, drones will deliver protocols with voting results to territorial election commissions.
In the future, the use of unmanned technologies in the electoral process can help reduce costs and increase the safety and efficiency of document transportation.
The "Vikhr-1M" hexacopter can stay airborne for up to 50 minutes. It carries up to 20 kg of payload. The control channel range of the drone is 30 km.
The drone can also be used for monitoring nature parks, construction sites, and ensuring fire safety. In the mining industry, "Vikhr-1M" is capable of delivering rock samples to areas with limited access.
