The Brazilian company Embraer has launched a powerful campaign within the Indian tender for the supply of military transport aircraft. India is looking for a replacement for its fleet of outdated Soviet An-32s, and the Brazilians are offering the jet-powered C-390 Millennium in return.

In partnership with India's Mahindra, Embraer is ready to deploy C-390 production directly in India under the "Make in India" program.

Embraer convinces New Delhi that the Indian plant will meet domestic needs and become a global export hub. India will be able to sell C-390s to countries replacing Soviet equipment, including the An-26.

Recall that India officially signed a contract for the purchase of An-32 aircraft in 1979. In total, up to 123 aircraft were delivered to the republic at an average base cost of $15 million per aircraft. The total value of the deal could have reached $1.6 billion.

In parallel, India plans to purchase new military transport aircraft for $10 billion. The main candidates were the American C-130J Super Hercules and the Brazilian C-390 Millennium, Russia with the Il-76MD-90A is not on this list.
