A federal court in Florida found Russian national Alexander Mamonov guilty on all 12 counts in a case involving the illegal shipment of American aircraft parts to Russia for Aeroflot. The value of the supplies exceeded $900,000.

Mamonov, 62, lived in Florida and previously worked for Aeroflot. According to court documents, after US export restrictions tightened in 2022, he conspired with Russian citizen Ignat Vakorin, who is currently wanted.

The investigation found that they purchased aircraft parts from American suppliers and arranged for their shipment to Russia and Aeroflot. However, suppliers were informed of other final destinations, including the United Arab Emirates and China.

US authorities also accused Mamonov of using financial transactions to conceal the scheme. The final list of charges included conspiracy to violate export control law, illegal export of regulated goods, smuggling, providing false export information, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
