A new scam scheme has appeared in "Max" disguised as messages from allegedly concerned neighbors. The user is told that a suspicious person is walking near their apartment and offered to watch a "confirmation video".

But instead of a real recording, the victim is sent a link to a malicious file. After launching it, attackers can gain access to the device and try to hijack accounts in "Gosuslugi" and banking applications.

The scheme relies on anxiety and urgency: a person sees a message about a possible threat right at their door and rushes to open the file without checking the sender.

It is not yet known where the scammers get information about which apartment a particular victim lives in.
