Ekaterina Larina, Director of the Department for the Development of Mass Communications at the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, told RIA Novosti about the need for systematic training of journalists in working with artificial intelligence. According to her, it is important to develop ethical principles for using algorithms, especially for young specialists, and to learn how to verify data obtained with their help, while remaining true to the profession.

Earlier, Vladimir Solovyov, Chairman of the Russian Union of Journalists, announced that the Russian Union of Journalists would create a new code of ethics for Russian journalists, which would include legal and ethical norms for the use of AI. The Ministry of Digital Development is also discussing the creation of a service to check content for the use of neural networks.

Artificial intelligence will not replace a journalist, said Valery Fadeev, Chairman of the HRC. In his opinion, algorithms will not be able to make a report from the scene, conduct an interview, or write an essay, since these genres require personal communication and emotions. But if simple work is entrusted to AI, young journalists will not learn the craft and will never create great reports.
