Soldiers of the 288th Guards Artillery Brigade of the "West" group of forces have deployed a field technical and operational unit (TECh) for the repair and maintenance of drones, including those controlled by fiber optics. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
Military personnel equip and prepare drones for artillerymen. The full cycle of drone restoration includes diagnostics, parts replacement, and firmware flashing of flight controllers.
Spooling of fiber optic cables and welding of fiber optic cables are also organized here, which allows maintaining communication quality in conditions of dense electronic countermeasures.
The finished devices are tested and then handed over to artillerymen for striking enemy targets and adjusting fire. Thanks to the round-the-clock operation of the TECh, equipment is repaired very quickly. This directly affects the fulfillment of combat missions by military personnel.
Earlier, Russian Armed Forces soldiers organized a similar laboratory for assembling and repairing ground robotic systems (NRTK). It takes up to 3 days to prepare one robot.
