The family of Russian "Iskanders" may receive an unusual benchmark for comparison – the North Korean ballistic missile KN-30 is stated to have a warhead mass of up to 2.5 tons. For the 9M723 missile of the "Iskander-M" complex, the warhead mass is within 480–700 kg, "Voennaya Khronika" reported, citing foreign sources.

The 9M723 missile of the "Iskander-M" is a quasi-ballistic system with a range of up to 500 km. Its launch mass is about 3.8 tons, and the warhead is estimated at approximately 480–800 kg in various sources.

At the same time, the complex is designed for high-precision target engagement and can use different types of warheads.

For the KN-30, the main difference turned out to be in the payload: the enlarged missile body allows for a significantly heavier warhead. North Korea also presented a Hwasong-11C variant with a stated warhead of 4.5 tons.

Foreign sources claimed that Russia builds two missiles for the 500 km range "Iskander-M" every day. The annual stock was estimated at 700 units. This information is not officially disclosed.
