The introduction of the third form of national currency – the digital ruble – does not mean that pensions and salaries will be forcibly converted into electronic tokens (unique digital code). Such innovations are not currently being discussed, said Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans Affairs.

There is no mandatory transfer of social payments, pension payments, salary payments to a digital account, and no obligation to have digital rubles.
According to him, the use of the digital ruble is an additional opportunity for Russians. It is an alternative to traditional forms of national currency, he emphasized.
Nilov reminded that pensioners currently receive payments to a bank card. In addition, many elderly people use the services of postmen who bring cash to their homes.
Starting from September 1, Russia will begin the mass introduction of the digital ruble. Initially, operations with this type of currency will be available to the country's largest banks, and by 2028, to all credit organizations.
