The Yandex team has filed an application with Rospatent for the registration of the "Splitview" trademark. This was announced by the company's press service. The information also appeared in the database of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property.

The company plans to register the trademark under seven classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS): 09, 35, 38, 39, 41, 42, and 45. The application specifies, in particular, software, digital personal assistants, and artificial intelligence-based services.

The name "Splitview", according to the application description, can be used for a browser mode that allows simultaneous viewing of a website and interaction with an AI assistant in the same interface. The user will not need to switch to a separate window or tab.

As explained by Yandex, the registration of the trademark indicates the further development of browsers as an environment for working with AI tools.

In March 2026, the editorial board reported on the launch of the SplitView function — a split-screen mode where the website and a chat with the Alice AI neural network are displayed simultaneously. This is the name that now appears in the trademark application.

Even earlier, in December 2025, the browser received an updated AI assistant capable of analyzing videos and documents directly while viewing them — without the need to switch between tabs.
