The SKAT 350M reconnaissance complex was modernized over 40 times in 2025. According to Alan Lushnikov, head of the Kalashnikov concern, changes were made based on feedback from military personnel using the equipment on the line of contact.
The concern's specialists are almost constantly at the positions, collecting feedback and promptly adapting the complex's composition and software. The SKAT 350M itself works in tandem with the Kub-10ME loitering munition, is equipped with an optoelectronic reconnaissance system, stays in the air for up to four hours, and provides retransmission. The quality of the image and the ability to reconfigure video channels directly in flight make it resistant to suppression and in demand among drones.
More than 40 modifications in a year is not a one-time modernization, but a continuous cycle of improvements, where combat experience is immediately converted into technical solutions. It is this approach, according to Lushnikov, that ensures the complex's leadership.
The SKAT 350M is a tactical reconnaissance drone produced by the Kalashnikov concern with a wingspan of 3.2 m and an electric pulling engine. The device develops a speed of 72 to 120 km/h, operates at altitudes from 300 to 2000 m, and can stay in the air for up to four hours, covering up to 240 km. The range of the radio link and video channel is 70–100 km, the maximum takeoff weight is 15 kg.
The complex is equipped with an optoelectronic reconnaissance system and provides signal retransmission. Among the key improvements made based on combat experience is the ability to switch control channel frequencies directly during flight, which reduces vulnerability to electronic warfare systems. Later, the drone received protection against spoofing: when a fake signal from navigation satellites is received, it navigates using pre-loaded maps. The modernization of the engine nacelle reduced the effects of engine vibration and improved image stability — the updated unit withstood at least 180 flights without issues. Additionally, the device is equipped with a remote identification system of Russian production and can be equipped with a multispectral camera. The SKAT 350M is most effective in conjunction with loitering munitions of the "KUB" family.
