The first plant in Russia for ultra-large tires (ULT, with a profile width of 690 mm or more, regardless of the rim diameter) has received permission for construction in the Avangard special economic zone in Omsk. This was announced by the region's governor, Vitaly Khotsenko.
The plant will specialize in the production of large and ultra-large tires for quarry dump trucks and other machinery. More than 600 jobs are planned to be created.
The production of ULT will ensure the output of strategically important products, Khotsenko emphasized. The plant will begin operations in late 2028 – early 2029. Its design capacity is about 10.5 thousand tires per year.
Until 2022, Russia purchased ultra-large tires from major Western manufacturers: Bridgestone (Japan), Michelin (France), Goodyear (USA). These brands accounted for up to 90% of the market. In the last three years, Chinese manufacturers such as Techking, DuraMax Tire, and Advance have strengthened their positions in the Russian Federation. In addition, ULT from Belshina are actively supplied to the country.
