UTair airline presented a Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter with a special livery dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the outstanding Soviet and Russian oil geologist. The aircraft with the new design appeared in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

The helicopter's fuselage features a portrait of Farman Kurbanovich Salmanov and a thematic painting reflecting his contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry in Western Siberia. The design emphasizes the geologist's role in discovering Russia's largest oil regions.

Under Salmanov's leadership, about 150 hydrocarbon fields were discovered. His work became one of the key factors in the beginning of industrial development of oil and gas resources in Western Siberia.

The Mi-8MTV-1, which received the commemorative livery, is produced by the Kazan Helicopter Plant of the Russian Helicopters holding company, part of the Rostec State Corporation. The machine belongs to the Mi-8/17 family of multi-purpose helicopters and is widely used for passenger transportation, transport tasks, and operations in difficult climatic conditions.
